 W. Robert Moore

Senior Engineering Manager
Associate Vice President
HNTB

Bob Moore provides technical leadership for HNTB's Great Lakes Division rail engineering practice. Currently, he serves as project manager for HNTB to implement AAR’s CREATE Mapping Project. He describes his prior years as a fog of employers and corporate moves.

He has served in engineering and management roles on a number of freight and passenger railroad planning and engineering projects over the last decade. It may be observed that Bob has often worked a bit too far in advance of the bulldozers. Far-sighted, but alas far-off projects, bearing Bob's imprint include: Chicago's Central Area Circulator, DM&E's PRB Expansion, WisDOT's Milwaukee-Madison High Speed Rail, Amtrak's South of the Lake Reroute, MDOT's Lansing-Detroit Commuter Rail, and Florida's (mortally stricken) Tampa-Orlando High Speed Rail.

To be fair, Bob has contributed to a number of successful rail transportation projects for Metra, CTA, Canadian Pacific Railway, Minneapolis Hiawatha, SEPTA, WMATA and Seoul Subway. He is confident that Chicago's CREATE Program will be logged in the positive column.

Bob is a graduate of Princeton University with a BS in Civil Engineering. In a wayward effort to climb the corporate ladder, he obtained an MBA at the University of Pittsburgh. He credits his lifelong love of rail transportation to his friend, Bob Glassey, long retired and long deceased engineer for the PRR, who ran steam locomotives over the Alleghenies.
