2009-2010 Transportation Center Ph.D. Dissertation Year Fellowship

This award is given annually to Ph.D. Candidates in their final year of study conducting thesis research on topics related to transportation, logistics or the supply-chain. Application deadline is

Funding can include tuition, stipend, and other research-related expenses for a maximum of three quarters.
(Note: Dissertation Year Fellowship (DYF) Tuition is paid at the reduced, Research Resident rate (503); students are expected to have completed the required 3 quarters of Post-Candidacy Research (599) by the time the DYF comes into effect. If not, the student must cover the additional tuition from other sources.

Overview of Requirements:

  • You must have an approved dissertation topic.
  • You must be planning to complete your Ph.D. during the 2009-10 AY.
  • Your thesis must be on a transportation or logistics-related topic.
  • Prior to the start of the funding period for the TC Dissertation Year Fellowship, the applicant must provide proof that they have been admitted to Ph.D. Candidacy by the Graduate School
  • You must deliver a Seminar suitable for a broad-based transportation audience during the Fellowship year.
  • You must produce a 2-page Executive Summary about your research for use by the Transportation Center in communicating with their various constituencies.
