Doug Hagestad, Associate Director of the Transportation Center, Passes Away

Douglas Dean Hagestad died on the morning of Thursday, July 26th. He was walking the family dog, and succumbed to heart problems. He was 63 years old.

Doug was a passionate teacher, a relentlessly positive colleague, and a rock-solid friend to those lucky enough to be close to him.

He joined the Transportation Center officially in August of 2006, when he was appointed Associate Director. But he worked with us for years beforehand, animating the Sandhouse Gang since its inception, and helping it grow into the lively forum it is today.

We will miss him deeply. Beyond any single contribution, or his vast wealth of experience and knowledge, we will miss the enthusiasm and warmth he brought to work every day.

Our thoughts go out to Doug's wife, Dottie, and his children and grandchildren.

We will pay tribute to Doug at our October Sandhouse Gang meeting. Everyone is welcome.
