Icarus SocietyIcarus, a Greek mythological aviator, failed to heed his father Daedalus' sage advice about climbing too near the sun and died when his fledgling wings melted. Northwestern University’s Transportation Center’s ad-hoc aviation think tank, The Icarus Society, provides a public forum for the discussion and dissemination of a wide range of national and international issues impacting the aviation industry. The goal of the Society is to share knowledge and ideas about all thing relevant to aviation today with the widest possible audience. The Icarus Society promotes in-depth dialoguing about the airlines, aircraft manufacturing, aviation services, technology, government oversight, and significant elements of business aviation through seminars, lectures, and the exchange of ideas via web postings and ListServ Communications. In additional to exploring topics of interest to the group, the networking among members is a significant benefit to its members. |
