Frank J. Richter Scholarship
AARS seeks applicants for Frank J. Richter Scholarship
Know any good transportation students who could use a little help financing their education? Send them the American Association of Railroad Superintendents' (AARS) way.
Under the Frank J. Richter Scholarship program, AARS awards two $1,000 scholarships annually to students pursuing a transportation career. The scholarship is named for Progressive Railroading Co-Founder Frank Richter.
In 2005, the scholarship winners were Jason James Maga, a student at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, who's majoring in Strategy, Operations, and Management, and has a grade point average of 3.75; and John Michael Collins, a Northwestern undergrad who is majoring in Economics/ Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and has a 3.8 GPA.
To win a scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year, applicants must take an appropriate course of study and be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student; they also must be sponsored by an active, associate or "life" AARS member. Applications are due July 15.
